Budgerigars, also known as budgies, have the ability to mimic human speech and sounds, but it is debated whether they truly understand the meaning behind the words they are saying. While they may be able to associate certain sounds with specific actions or outcomes, it is unlikely that they have a full understanding of human language in the same way that humans do. Their mimicry is more likely a form of vocal learning and social interaction rather than true comprehension of language. **

Budgerigars can eat canary food occasionally, but it should not be their primary diet. Canary food may lack some essential nutrients that budgerigars need for optimal health. It is important to provide budgerigars with a well-balanced diet specifically formulated for them, which includes a variety of seeds, pellets, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Consulting with a veterinarian or avian nutritionist is recommended to ensure your budgerigar is receiving the proper nutrition. **

Food jealousy in budgerigars refers to the behavior where one bird becomes possessive or territorial over a particular food item and tries to prevent other birds from accessing it. This can lead to aggressive behavior such as pecking, chasing, or squawking. Food jealousy can be triggered by competition for limited resources or a bird's natural instinct to protect its food source. It is important for bird owners to monitor their budgerigars' behavior and provide enough food and resources to prevent conflicts. **

Good food for budgerigars includes a variety of seeds such as millet, canary seed, and oats, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables like apples, carrots, and leafy greens. Pellets specifically formulated for budgerigars can also be a good source of essential nutrients. It's important to provide a balanced diet to ensure they receive all the necessary vitamins and minerals for their health and well-being. Additionally, offering occasional treats like sprouted seeds or small amounts of millet spray can provide enrichment and variety in their diet. **

Suitable soft food for budgerigars includes fresh fruits such as apples, pears, and berries, as well as vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and leafy greens. Cooked grains like rice and quinoa can also be offered. It is important to ensure that the food is cut into small, bite-sized pieces to prevent choking and that any uneaten food is removed promptly to avoid spoilage. Additionally, it is recommended to introduce new foods gradually to monitor any potential digestive issues. **

While both cockatiels and budgerigars are small parrots, they have different dietary requirements. Cockatiels require a diet that is higher in protein and fat compared to budgerigars. It is not recommended to give cockatiel food to budgerigars as it may not meet their specific nutritional needs. It is important to provide budgerigars with a balanced diet that includes a variety of seeds, pellets, fresh fruits, and vegetables to ensure they stay healthy and happy. **

There could be several reasons why your budgerigars are not eating egg food. One possibility is that they are not familiar with this type of food and may need some time to adjust to it. Another reason could be that they are getting all the necessary nutrients from their current diet and do not feel the need to eat the egg food. It's also possible that the texture or taste of the egg food is not appealing to them. It's important to offer a variety of foods and be patient as they may eventually try and enjoy the egg food. **
